7 surprising facts about the earth

1. Earth Not Round Perfect

In lesson Natural science and science when you were elementary school, you'll often be told by the teacher if the Earth is not perfectly round. And it is true if the Earth was not a ball. In fact, the Earth has a bulge around the equator because of the force of gravity. Polar radius of the earth is 3949.99 miles away while the equatorial radius is 3963.34 miles. Be thankful for you who live in equatorial / Equator (including Indonesia) because the sky you can reach for the stars more quickly.

2. Origin Name Earth From Anglo-Saxons

Each planet in this solar system named after the Gods of Greek and Roman mythology, unless the planet we inhabit. Earth (Earth) is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word meaning land Erda. But in fact, 71% of the Earth is water, and to be the only planet in the whole universe who has the precious liquid.

3. The day is not 24 hours

People may often say that 24 hours is not enough, and it's true. Actually, the Earth rotates on its axis in 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4 seconds. Today the sun, the time required for the sun to return to the meridian vary as much as 16 minutes throughout the year. Do not understand what it means? Please google and find out in the book of science, because it will be long enough if explained.

4. The Only Planet Earth plated Tectonics

The scientists believe that the Earth is consist of seven major plates of the earth's crust are moving in a different direction to 4 inches per year. If they collide, then the causes of volcanoes and earthquakes can be explained. Although it sounds terrible, but the good news is this plate motion activity allows carbon to be recycled. And it turns out God created anything in this world there is always a benefit.

5. Earth Have Twins Named Theia

Again, scientists believe that the Earth is not alone in orbit of the solar system. Earth has a 'twin' named Theia and a Mars-sized as well as being 60 degrees in front of or behind the Earth. One afternoon about 4.5 billion years ago, Theia hit the Earth and most of the pieces it explodes and becomes material creation month. Sound strange? The fact that the moon does have big-like planets and isotopes of the same metal as the Earth.

6. Mysterious Moon In Orbit (Almost) Perfect

Speaking about Earth's satellite is indeed very unique. The moon has a center of the solar system about 6,000 meters closer to the earth and it should make erratic orbit. But in fact, in almost perfect circular orbit. There is a unique natural phenomenon that when the sun appears 400 times larger than Earth and 400 times farther from Earth that make the sun and moon appear the same size in the sky Earth. An All One God another.

7. Everest is not the highest point

Mount Everest is one of the most famous in the world with a height of up to 8,849 meters above sea level (approximately nearly 3 Mount Semeru prepared above). But apparently Everest is not the highest point. After the fact that the Earth is not perfectly round, then the Equator at a distance closer to the star. That means mountain Chimborazo in Ecuador with a height of about 6267 meters above sea level can be considered the highest point. Because of what? Chimborazo is located on the equator with 'bumps' which is higher than the center of the earth so that its height is more than 1.5 miles Everest. Believe?
