Johnny Manziel Hit With Restraining Order : Dallas Cops Launch Criminal Investigation

Dallas police are now investigating Johnny Manziel after the Browns quarterback’s ex-girlfriend pressed charges on an alleged domestic violence incident that took place a week ago. That incident led a Tarrant County (Tex.) judge to sign a restraining order today requiring Manziel to avoid his ex for two years and pay $12,000 of her legal costs, according to WFAA in Dallas.
Manziel is also forbidden from carrying a firearm or ammunition, according to WFAA, with federal charges on the line if he’s caught in possession of either.
Meanwhile, Dallas police have finally opened an investigation into the case after the alleged victim provided an affidavit stating she was “fearful for her life,” according to WFAA. The Dallas Police Department released the following:
Following yesterday’s release, today the Dallas Police Department received a complaint of a domestic violence assault that occurred in Dallas on January 30, 2016. A criminal investigation into the incident, in which Johnathan Manziel is the listed suspect, has been initiated. Detectives will thoroughly investigate the case to determine what criminal charges, if any, will be filed and victim services will be offered.
As there are many emotional factors involved, it is not uncommon for a victim of domestic violence to question or delay reporting an assault. This is an on-going investigation and updates will be made as information becomes available.

Wow!!! Police investigate domestic violence claim against Johnny Manziel

Dallas police announced Friday night they are launching a criminal investigation into a domestic violence assault complaint filed againstCleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.
The move comes a day after police said they had closed an investigation into allegations that Manziel had hit his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, in an incident last Saturday that started at a downtown Dallas hotel, and that he would not face charges.
Police said in a release that they received an assault complaint Friday for a Jan. 30 incident, and Manziel was listed as the suspect. It is not uncommon for the victim of domestic violence "to question or delay reporting an assault," police said.
"This is an ongoing investigation and updates will be made as information becomes available," the release stated.
Crowley released a statement to WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas, on Friday night.
"On Feb. 5, I met with domestic violence specialists at the Dallas Police Department," she said. "I provided them with a complete description of the events on the night of January 29th and answered their questions. I don't know what will happen next with this case -- that'll be up to the Dallas Police Department. I am hopeful that everyone will understandably respect my wish for privacy at this time."
The new investigation comes on a day when Manziel was dropped by his agent, Erik Burkhardt, and his father, Paul Manziel, told The Dallas Morning News that if Manziel didn't get help, he feared his son wouldn't make it to his 24th birthday in December.
Paul Manziel also told the newspaper that his family had tried to get Johnny Manziel into rehab twice in the past week, but he had left twice.
Also Friday, Crowley reportedly got a protection order against him in which he must stay at least 500 feet from her home and place of work for two years.
In the incident last Saturday, Manziel allegedly struck Crowley several times at the Hotel ZaZa in downtown Dallas, according to a Fort Worth police report released Thursday.
According to the report, parts of which were redacted, Manziel and Crowley left the hotel after he struck her. Manziel drove them to Crowley's apartment in Fort Worth. Crowley told officers she and Manziel shouted angrily at each other, going back and forth, during the drive, and that he struck her several more times.
WFAA, citing unnamed sources, reported that Manziel told Crowley to "shut up or I'll kill us both" after he forced her into the car.
She alleged he was acting "as if he were on some kind of drugs," but maintained he was not intoxicated.
Manziel, in an interview with TMZ Sports posted on its website later Thursday, said of the claims he struck his ex-girlfriend: "It didn't happen." He also said, "I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure."
A source close to Manziel, who spoke to the quarterback Friday, told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that Manziel "is concerned" about all of the stories about him and said he is doing "all right."
The Browns released a statement earlier in the week saying they would address Manziel's status "when permitted by league rules." A source told ESPN's Pat McManamon earlier this week that the Browns plan to release Manziel in March.

Cops investigating Johnny Manziel again, dad fears son is suicidal

Johnny Manziel is under investigation again, the Dallas Police Department announced Friday night after receiving a complaint of domestic violence that allegedly occured Jan. 30.
Manziel faced allegations that he hit former girlfriend Colleen Crowley last weekend in Texas, but on Thursday both Dallas and Fort Worth police announced they would not be filing charges. WFAA TV reports that Crowley is now pursuing a case against the quarterback, who has denied hitting her.
Police said detectives would determine what, if any, criminal charges Manziel would face. They noted it is not uncommon for victims of domestic violence to question or delay reporting an assault.
Earlier on Friday, a judge in Tarrant County, Texas, issued an order of protection, which states that the Cleveland Browns quarterback must stay away from Crowley for two years.
It's been a disastrous week for Manziel, whose personal troubles have thrown his career and life into disarray. Crowley told police Manziel struck her ''several times'' at a Dallas hotel and later when they drove back to her apartment in Fort Worth. The Browns have indicated he will be released next month after two tumultuous seasons.
''I truly believe if they can't get him help, he won't live to see his 24th birthday,'' Manziel's father, Paul, told The Dallas Morning News.
Manziel's father said the family has made two unsuccessful attempts in the past week to get Manziel into a rehab clinic.
Manziel agreed to go to the Enterhealth Ranch addiction facility in Van Alstyne, Texas, but he would not stay, Paul Manziel told the Morning News. He tried to have his son admitted Tuesday to Carrollton Springs Hospital, but Manziel was allowed to leave. Paul Manziel said he told a Denton County sheriff's officer he believed his son to be suicidal.
The Associated Press left messages seeking comment for Manziel, his parents and a lawyer who represented the player when he was at Texas A&M.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, who entered the NFL with a party-boy reputation, spent 73 days last winter in a Pennsylvania treatment center specializing in care for alcohol and drug dependency.
The disturbing portrait of Manziel comes as his agent dropped the 23-year-old quarterback as a client Friday.
Erik Burkhardt said that with ''deep regret'' he has ended the business relationship. He added that he made his decision after ''several emotional and very personal discussions with his family, his doctors and my client himself.''
''Though I will remain a friend and Johnny supporter, and he knows I have worked tirelessly to arrange a number of professional options for him to continue to pursue, it has become painfully obvious that his future rests solely in his own hands,'' the agent said in a statement.
''His family and I have gone to great lengths to outline the steps we feel he must take to get his life in order. Accountability is the foundation of any relationship, and without it the function of my work is counterproductive. I truly wish the best for Johnny and sincerely hope he can, and will, find the kind of peace and happiness he deserves.''
Burkhardt isn't the first to cut business ties with Manziel. LeBron James' marketing agency ended its association with him last month. The Cleveland Cavaliers star did not want to discuss Manziel following a morning shootaround.
''I've already voiced my opinion on his situation,'' James said. ''I'm not going to do it again. I think that's the last thing I need to be talking about is his incidents. That doesn't make it any better. I wasn't there. I don't know what happened, so who am I to say he was right or he was wrong? I wasn't there.''
On Tuesday, the Browns released a strong statement in which the team indicated it will release Manziel as early as March 9, when the league begins its new calendar year.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters on Fridaythat he hasn't been able to reach the quarterback.
"Johnny has not responded to us, but we'll do anything we can to help him personally and our thoughts and prayers are with Johnny and his family," Haslam told reporters in San Francisco ahead of the Super Bowl. "We're not worried about Johnny Manziel the football player, we're worried about Johnny Manziel the person, and I think that's all we need to say on the issue."
Also, the league is looking into whether Manziel violated its personal-conduct policy. A league spokesman said Friday the inquiry is ongoing. Manziel was cleared of any wrongdoing last year after he and Crowley got into a heated roadside argument near the player's home.
Crowley was inside her Fort Worth apartment Friday but was not seeing visitors.
"She's getting some help right now. That's where we are," her father, David Crowley, told the AP.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna Enjoyed a Casual FaceTime After Her Public Intoxication Arrest

Today marks another strange chapter in the ongoing Jane Austen-novel-as-retold-by-Kurt-Vonnegut that is Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’srelationship. Until this morning, the new couple had been content merely to make America feel ashamed for knowing so much about the Kardashian family that they patently understood why Kylie Jenner would stop speaking to Rob for dating Chyna (1., see below).
But apparently, twisting the knife in the collective Kardashian side is no longer enough for Rob and Chyna, a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde if reimagined by a drunk David Lynch. The troublemaking pair have set their sights on a new frontier: America’s friendly skies.
On Friday, Chyna was arrested at the Austin airport on charges of public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance, according to People. Chyna was flying from Los Angeles to London for a “personal appearance,” but, as People ominously tells it, “she never made it to her final destination.” Even though that sentence makes it seem like she disappeared into thin air during her flight and was never seen or heard from again, in reality the 27-year-old model was detained in Texas after being “belligerent” with flight attendants.
Hours after her high-flying adventure, Chyna was back on Instagram, posting a “#FreeChyna” (2.) hashtag with the caption “When Zaddy (3.) holds u down no matter what 😍☘.”
Soon thereafter, Rob was “standing by his new lady,” sharesPeople, by posting a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation with Chyna. Rob’s post was a loud, unmistakable statement to his sisters, to innocent air travelers, to America at large. The caption this time? “👹👹”

Blac Chyna Arrested at Austin, Texas, Airport for Public Intoxication

Blac Chyna was arrested for public intoxication on Friday, January 29, upon landing at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, the Austin Police Department confirms to Us Weekly.
TMZ reports that police boarded her plane and arrested Chyna after she allegedly got drunk and disrupted the flight from L.A. One eyewitness told the site that she argued with a flight attendant on the plane.
Chyna was en route to London and had a layover in Austin. According to TMZ, she was taken into custody at the airport and booked for public intoxication. The Austin PD tells Us there may be other charges pending.

The Travis County Sheriff's website later showed that Chyna was also charged with possession of a controlled substance of one gram or more but less than four grams.
Chyna has been dominating headlines for several days now, ever since she posted a photo of herself in the embrace of a man who turned out to be Rob Kardashian, whose sister Kylie Jenner is dating Chyna's exTyga. Chyna and Tyga have a 3-year-old son, King Cairo.
Given her complicated history with the Kardashian-Jenner crew -- she also used to be friends with Kim Kardashian but is now BFFs with Kardashian rival Amber Rose -- the new romance came as a bit of a shock. A source told Us Weekly the family was "in a bind" trying to be supportive of Rob and sensitive to Kylie.
Asked whether she cared what they thought of the relationship, Chyna told TMZ earlier on Friday, "Of course I care. I love all of them."

This is the latest major exclusive Drake has dropped on Apple Music, thanks to an exclusive deal with the streaming service. His mixtape with Future, What a Time to Be Alive was previewed the last time Drake hosted OVO Sound Radio, and his Meek Mill diss track "Charged Up" and the hit single "Hotline Bling" also made their debuts on Beats 1. As for Views From The 6, Drake says the album will be released this April.

Members of the Screen Actors Guild proved far more inclusive than their film academy counterparts Saturday night, honoring a diverse array of actors during their annual awards show at the Shrine Auditorium — and making a pointed contrast to #OscarsSoWhite.
Most of the awards being accepted by people of color were for television performances with one prominent exception — Idris Elba, who won the supporting actor prize for his role in the Netflix film “Beasts of No Nation.”
Elba's failure to secure an Oscar nomination helped fuel this year's continued backlash against the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which for the second year in a row did not nominate any people of color for its 20 acting nominations.
Elba, who later in the evening won a second award for his turn as a self-destructive detective on BBC America's TV crime drama “Luther,” summed up the tone of the evening onstage with this play on words: “Welcome to diverse TV.”
The night also added a bit of intrigue to the Oscar race for best picture. The journalism drama “Spotlight” took the movie ensemble award, one week after Adam McKay's anarchic financial meltdown dramedy “The Big Short” won the top honor from the Producers Guild.
That suggests it's a two-way race at the Oscars Feb. 28, since the choices by these two guilds frequently point to the academy's ultimate winner.
